Several
years ago, we undertook the rehabilition and addition
to a large 19th century Vermont inn and house while living
and working 3,000 miles away in San Francisco. Thanks
to Karl Johnston and his fabulous crew, not only were
we able to pull it off, we ended up with a stunning project
that was on-budget and on-schedule.
Karl was able to take our sketchy notes and drawings translate
them into a beautiful and well built finished product.
He seemed to have a knack for knowing when he needed to
call us in and when he didn't. Remarkably,nothing ever
seemed to be a crisis. We successfully resolved all the
critical issues by FAX, email and the phone.
The project would not have worked without Karl's fundamental
competence and experience as builder and his efficient
but easy going communication style. In less experienced
hand's, this project could easily have gotten out of control.
Karl is an excellent listener with a Yankee's facility
for straightforward talk. We recommend him without reservation.
